Open Mouth Open Mind
It has been quite a spell since I have written anything worth blogging about. It isn’t that there is a shortage of topics, rather a need to reflect. The social media forum is evolving before us and it truly is a greater evolution than the TV or radio. It is clearly evident by the transformation around the world, how truly powerful this new platform has become.
Just look at Egypt, Libya, and the occupy movement to mention a few. I will not debate the merits of any of these actions as that is another rave and a half. My point is, the common man now has an avenue to be heard and if the message is strong enough, that mountain can be moved. There will always be the parasites of society who will manipulate and try to put their spin on it, but even these clowns are having a difficult time to harness the momentum. They worry about getting re-elected.
I have almost abandoned the newspaper and the CTV news completely. I am tired of the blatant bias and completely slanted spin they are spreading. Thank goodness poor old Lloyd Roberston finally left. He must be nearing a 100. I would rather read Dave McLean’s daily rave or get the inside scoop from Chopper about what is happening on our river. From a province-wide perspective, we are not there yet and nationally, she is all happening west of here.
The point is this, communication will work at the smallest level if it is clear and honest. It works in families, teams, workplace, and communities and it is evident when it does not exist. So speak your mind, and let those most important to you, know these thoughts. Who knows, maybe we can send Lisa Laflamme home also…
