Who You Gonna Call?
The tax season is upon us and the insatiable appetite for more money will have CRA scouring our returns to ensure we all pay just a little bit more. This phrase burns right to the pit of my stomach and it has been coined by successive governments of the day. There has been no regard for the working man in this great country of ours. Just ask the tradesman that is traveling back and forth out west or the upstart entrepreneur. Here is the recipe. The self-starter takes all the risk, govt gets paid first, employee’s second and he or she gets what is left over to fund today, tomorrow and retirement.
To level the playing field, all of us need to seek out the help of experts to ensure we get fair treatment in an overly complicated system designed to keep us working and paying. We are the lifeline to an appetite with no gag reflex. When I compare this to the automobile industry, I have a question that we all need to reflect on. How many of us work on vehicles today? Not many! The move to computerized cars has almost eliminated the back yard mechanic and a vehicle pales in value compared to our money machine. You know, the one that brings home the bacon after feeding the beast.
We deny ourselves many things and yet, something as important as our earning years is not given the same scale of attention, compared to many areas of our day to day lives. Go get the advice of an accountant or tax expert. The extra few dollars will more than pay for itself. These people work in the field of money and finance every day. They know their stuff and they can rid you of those nightmarish haunts that keep us awake. They won’t arrive in a Ghostbusters vehicle but they will keep you solvent so that you don’t have to pull your teeth, cut your own hair and change your own oil. You know, just like the good old days when we all did our own tax returns, too.
